Women’s Initiative for Delivering clean Energy to Africa (Widenergy Africa Ltd), is a women – led company, registered in Zambia, dedicated to the last mile distribution of clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions.

Our mission is to empower women to become the champions and advocates of clean energy. so that African women and girls could have access to clean affordable and sustainable energy for lighting and cooking, and could take advantage of energy access to live better, with positive impact on health, education and household income.

Whistleblowing Policy
This policy ensures that employees, agents, customers, partners, vendors, and the public can raise concerns without fear of victimization, discrimination, disadvantage, or retaliation.
Reporting Process
• Reports will be reviewed and investigated by the Head of HR and/or CEO, with oversight from a designated ombudsperson.
• A Fact Finding Committee (FFC) or HR representative may be appointed to conduct inquiries.
• Corrective action may include disciplinary hearings, termination of employment or contract, or
cooperation with law enforcement.
• All whistleblowing reports will be treated with confidentiality. Anonymity will be protected unless
disclosure is legally required.
Information Required
When reporting, please provide:
• The nature of your concern and why you believe it to be true.
• Background and history of the concern, including relevant dates.
• Any supporting evidence if available.
Formal Investigation
• The identity of whistleblowers will remain confidential during the investigation process, unless
disclosure is legally necessary or required for a fair investigation.
• Matters raised may be investigated internally, referred to law enforcement, external auditors, or
legal consultants.
• Within 10 working days of receiving a concern, the investigator will:- Acknowledge receipt of the report.- Indicate how the matter will be handled.- Provide information on staff support mechanisms.- Inform whether further investigations will take place (and if not, explain why).
Protection Against Retaliation
WidEnergy Africa guarantees protection for individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
• No retaliatory actions—direct or indirect—will be tolerated.
• Retaliation itself constitutes misconduct and will result in disciplinary action.
